Standing independent of the main house, The Greater Coucal (yes, it is named after one of the busy birds you’ll see around our farm) is our very quaint and surprisingly spacious farmstay suite. As you enter, starting with an open verandah with a great view of the farm, you move into a more private courtyard that is ideal for work or to sit down and enjoy one of our farm-fresh meals. Your footsteps then take you into a cozy, well-ventilated living room and an open plan bedroom for a couple. The accommodation also features a clean, ensuite bathroom with running hot and cold water. Ideal for a couple, additional bedding can also be arranged on request to accommodate an extra adult or two children below the age of 14, in the living area. With period furniture dotting this space of cool terracotta floors, terracotta and whitewashed walls and reclaimed windows and doors, be prepared to be transported into old-world rusticity and the charm of a simple farm life – and no, while it isn’t airconditioned, the room stays surprisingly cool, all day long.
